Stephen Ministries

What is
Stephen Ministries?
Stephen Ministers are trusted volunteers trained by their Stephen Leaders to offer care to people who are hurting. A Stephen Minister typically has one care receiver at a time and meets with that person once a week for about an hour. As individuals go through a crisis or life difficulty, Stephen Ministries is there to listen and build relationships.

Can I meet
with someone?
We were never meant to do this alone. We need each other! When we journey through difficulty, someone who will listen and care deeply makes all the difference. Anyone can meet with a Stephen Minister. Let us know if this opportunity is for you and we will reach out quickly.

How do I
volunteer?
Great Stephen Ministers possess a gift for listening and empathizing with people. If you enjoy lending an ear to those who need to connect and process life, then you may be a great fit. Volunteers are equipped for this role through the Bridge Leader’s Training Course offered by Stephen Ministries St. Louis. Connection Point offers this training at various times during the year.
